Reading seminar and corridor painting, Marmara University, 2022-2023

A reading seminar on art and labour, and a week of maintenance work with students of the Painting Department at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts. In Boyacılar (Painters), the students and I repaired and painted the corridors of the department.

The reading meetings, İş (Work), drew on chapters from Work, the Documents of Contemporary Art volume edited by Friederike Sigler. Over seven meetings we read Sigler, Claire Bishop on delegated performance and Tino Sehgal, discussed Vasilis Katsoupis’s film Inside (2023), and closed with a screening of Francis Alÿs’s When Faith Moves Mountains.
