Island Ada
3D animation series examining construction, material, and the subversion of leisure spaces through an aerial, tilt-shift perspective.
The series examines the relationship between construction, material, and the subversion of leisure spaces. It presents parallel scenes of transformation and stasis through an aerial, tilt-shift perspective.
Key elements include a swimming pool in an arid landscape being filled with dark, viscous concrete; flooded construction sites where concrete-textured objects resembling weathered mattresses float on still black water; forms that appear simultaneously solid and buoyant, drifting aimlessly.
The concrete mattresses function as “islands,” solidified, discarded relics from the transformed recreational site, linking construction acts to desolate aftermath.
