Strands
Mixed media installation exploring the relationship between the ecology of Ilgwang Sea and its fishing village. Using a sea eel as its central motif, the work experiments with redesigning hierarchies between human and non-human entities.
The installation comprises video components created through 3D rendering based on research into the sea eel’s behavioral patterns, alongside documentation of a local fisherman preparing eel hooks. Through nylon nets, cables, and tarpaulin, the artist constructs a mysterious habitat, a dark, labyrinthine environment, examining interconnections among inorganic materials, living organisms, and digital media.
